I decided I wanted to go with a paper scrapbook/journal for the 30 Days of Lists project, so I’m starting over. Here’s Day 1, including stitched accents in two of my handspun thread colorways, Balance and Grumpy Leprechaun:

All this month I will be blogging my responses to the September 30 Days of Lists prompts, in an attempt to jumpstart my blogging as well as to share a little more about myself with you! Want to learn more about the project? Head over to 30 Days of Lists!
Day 1: Goals for this month
Wow, this list could not come at a better time. I just moved last weekend, and am in such a goal-setting place at the moment!
- Unpack and organize my office/work room
Not only do I use my work room for my business (inventory and raw material storage, order packaging, etc), but I am now also using it as my work office. I was lucky enough to be able to keep my Seattle job via telecommuting, but that means my desk better be super organized!
- Re-evaluate plan and restart my Daily Inchie project
Originally, I had intended to keep going on the Daily Inchie throughout the move, but that was just not to be. On the day we actually moved, I was up at 4 am to pick up my Dad from the airport, and we didn’t get the truck unpacked in Vancouver until 12:30am the next morning. But more that just exhaustion, I’m actually happy that this ended up happening – I’ve not been totally happy with how the project was going, to be honest. I haven’t quite decided, but I think I’m going to bump up to twinchies (2 inches square). While it may seem counter-intuitive to start with, working with 2 sq. inchies is so much easier than 1 sq. inch! This will allow me to include Pixel People (without resorting to 40 count silk gauze!), and other charts and patterns I’ve picked up over the last while and have not been able to use due to the one inch size restriction.
- Create a sustainable thread spinning schedule
This month I won’t have any new threads out (other than the two Thread Club exclusives), and since it is the beginning of the month (and the beginning of my new telecommuting schedule) I want to create a project plan for spinning that doesn’t leave me scrambling at the end of the month, and that still has space to allow for custom orders.
- Walk at least 5 days/nights each week
A few weeks before we moved down to Vancouver, David and I had taken to going on nightly walks around our neighborhood – I want to continue that habit in our new place. When he’s not here, I will probably go in the daytime (you can take the girl out of the city, but you can’t take the fear of stabbing out of the girl!)
- Find one new recipe each week
David has a lot of food allergies, so we get stuck in big ruts when it comes to dinner time. I need to make a concentrated effort to seek out new dairy, soy, gluten, sesame, egg, yeast, shellfish, spelt, and blueberry-free recipes, if not for him then for myself, since I pretty much eat the same thing he does every night.
That’s my list for today! I hope to report back on October 1st that I breezed through all of these goals, no sweat! 🙂
