Treasury Friday: Home Sweet Home Crafts Edition

As you might know, I am moving to a new city in just a few weeks. I thought it would be great fun to decorate the new house with a new “Home Sweet Home” project – which one is your favorite?

Also, have you heard about the Moving Sale? 15% off in my Etsy and Zibbet shops with coupon code “MovingSale” until August 26th! I’d much rather pack up thread into envelopes and mail it to you than pack it up in a moving box, so shop away! 🙂

Treasury Friday: Christmas in July Edition

Yes, I know – “Treasury Friday” is not nearly as fun to say as “WIP Wednesday”, but what better way to start your weekend than with an Etsy treasury of fabulous needlearts? This week I focused on Christmas/winter projects, since every year I fully intend to plan my holiday crafts in July. If you know me, you know how likely that is to actually happen, but I like to think each year will be different. 🙂

With no further ado, I give you Christmas Needlearts in July!

WIP Wednesday!

You know what day it is!

Inchies at The Daily Inchie

From my 29th to my 30th birthday, I’m creating a new needlework inchie every day. This week, my favorite has been my Vibrant Tapestry Sampler Inchie:

Vibrant Tapestry is my favorite colorway from this month’s crop of new threads (and yes, this whole thing was stitched with one colorway!), but the other reason I love this one is that I was actually able to capture some of the shine of the thread in the photo, which is something I always struggle with.

Other Projects

More progress on my Sheep Mandala – Sheep #1 has a friend!

Extreme center section close-up (cuz, really, why not? 🙂 ):

If you would like to stitch up your own Sheep Mandala using my conversion, leave a comment below or email me at liz@dragonflylotusdesigns.com and I’ll send it right over to you!

What have you been working on this week? Leave a comment below and point us to your blog, flickr, tumblr post, or anywhere else you are showing off your latest creations. Can’t wait to see them!!

Happy Stitching!

It’s WIP Wednesday!

Here’s what I’ve been working on this week:

Inchies at The Daily Inchie

From my 29th to my 30th birthday, I’m creating a new needlework inchie every day. This week, I think my hands-down favorite is my Fireworks Embroidery Inchie from the 4th:

I was so happy to find Sublime Stitching’s free fireworks pattern just in time for me to stitch!

Other Projects

This week I’m also working on a  Sheep Mandala from one of The Floss Box’s biscornu charts, which I have converted to Wool For Your Needle and Natural Threads thread. I think the conversion is turning out quite nicely:

Extreme Sheep Close-Up:

If you would like to stitch up your own Sheep Mandala using my conversion, leave a comment below or email me at liz@dragonflylotusdesigns.com and I’ll send it right over to you!

Epic A Embroidery

In addition to my daily needlework inchies over at The Daily Inchie, I’m also working on several projects to take to an Open House this fall. One is working my way through the Epic Alphabet set from Sublime Stitching. Tonight I finished stitching A!

If you look at the upper right corner, you’ll notice a section that I mis-copied when I traced the pattern out, but since I used my awesome new FriXion pen, it disappear once I unmount it and hit it with a blow dryer. (If you haven’t heard of these pens, check out my post from earlier this week.) I’ll post an update once I finish this baby up – I’m thinking I’ll canvas-frame them, but a few days ago I was set on making them ornaments, so only time will tell.

There’s still time to help me decide which projects to work on for the open house – head over to my Facebook page and vote in the poll!

Want to stitch up your own Epic A? Here’s what you’ll need:

Happy Stitching!
